To resize an LCD is to literally cut the glass, polarizers, circuits and circuit boards to a new size. Ten years ago, it was thought impossible to preserve the original performance of a previously manufactured (COTS) LCD once the glass circuits are cut. Twenty years ago, Tannas started to develop a simple, low-cost process using low-cost tooling to do just that. Tannas Electronic Displays, Inc., was incorporated on August 6, 1999, to resize LCDs and license the process. The original market application was the Aerospace and Industrial industry but an even larger market has evolved for custom sizes in the new Digital Signage industry.
